Deviant is Brighton's #1 weekend rock, metal and alternative club night! Since first opening it's doors on Friday 21st March 2003 it continues to rise to new levels.
Deviant is every Friday at The Engine Room - Brighton's only dedicated rock venue. Please see the map further down for the location. Please try to arrive early to avoid disappointment, we're normally at club capacity by about 12:30am!

The Source Magaine Review by Tom Lennard
I decided to stroll down to Deviant, the Engine Room's weekly rock/metal night. It undoubtedly is the best thing one can do with a wallet of change, a penchant for heavy music and an idea that leaving the house until the next morning will keep Brighton's seagulls and sirens at bay.
DJs Justin Trouble, K666 and Lost keep the metallers, goths and grungers entertained with a mix of industrial, classic metal and alt. rock. A sense of fun is required though, the Sonic the Hedgehog theme and S Club 7 being known to make an unwelcome/bemusing appearance. It was a busy night, students visiting the club aware that a piss-up before the exams kick in is vital to maintain some kind of sanity. Thankfully Deviant has £2.40 snakebites, £1 tequila shots and £1.70 vodka mixers suiting the young academics pocket quite wonderfully. With entrance at £3 with NUS, it's a cheap and cheerful knees-up with people you know or at least recognise.
For this is it's success: A club that feels more like a party. Even if that staring goon in the goff tee shirt looks a little humorous or intimidating, theres a good chance he'd buy you a drink if only you'd tell him you liked Faith No More and were willing to let him gibber on about his new Ibanez for a matter of minutes. Deviant is an event every week.
I enjoyed it immensely. Now what to do about those wretched seagulls
The DJs
DJ Justin Trouble - With his lady boy looks, this Crow obsessed heartbreaker has been at the center of the scene ever since taking over the weekly student night at the Hungry Years. Promoter of Deviant, resident DJ at The Pit and special guest of Hove Town Hall, Crash and several other clubs. If you wanna find him just look for the throng of adoring teenage lovelies he'll be there hiding somewhere in the middle.
DJ K666 - A young Krusher in the making who's unafraid to cross the goth line and the punk line and even the EBM line. Punchy Tune mister we salute you.
DJ Lost - A gem of a DJ and all round nice guy. Lost will take you from The Lost Prophets to the Lemonheads in T minus 10 secs. Look out for his excellent metal band Three Mile Island too!
Map
